| These paintings represent a well of inspiration I brought home from Italy in 2009. Many were painted on location when ten other artists and I traveled to Tuscany ; spending two weeks soaking in this beautiful, rich and antiquities culture from this wonderful land and its people. Although we painted and visited many Tuscan locations, one of the greatest sources of inspiration for me was the eleventh century castle, Castello di Colognole, in which we were guests. It is still a working castle and. Workers tended to the vineyards and olive groves, as we painted there. In the evening, we were treated to wines and wonderful dishes prepared with their own olive oil and fresh produce from their garden. |
